Bra & The City: Bradelis NYC Guide - Nolita Edition

"One can't paint New York as it is, but rather as it is felt." - Georgia O'Keefe

The acclaimed Artist succinctly described this iconic city that for generations has worked it’s charm on people from all walks of life, near and far, casting a spell, alluring one to trot down the deceptively straightforward streets and avenues, but in every corner - magic awaits.

Whether you can officially label yourself as a Native NewYorker or still just a postcard admirer, limited to exploring NYC through your Instagram feed, this City always manages to work it’s charm on everyone.

Bradelis too has drawn inspiration from New York; it’s practically one half of an extension of the Brand’s Name, and with good reason. The style and bold sensuality that New York exudes perfectly complements the delicate craftsmanship and precision fit technology of Japan from where Bradelis range of intimate wear originates. Blending these two seemingly opposing identities harmoniously is what has made Bradelis products so loved among thousands of women worldwide.

Attempting to even shortlist the delights of a City as sprawling  as New York is a futile task, so we’re going to focus on one of our favorite Neighborhoods for this edition: Nolita, which also happens to contain one of Bradelis flagship Stores.

Nolita: Where Fashion Meets its Muse

Nolita, meaning North of Little Italy, is a total gem of a neighborhood. Stemming from NYC's original Italian roots, the now buzzy neighborhood is a must-see on any hip tourist list. Celebrities like David Bowie, John Mayer, and Martin Scorsese have called the area between Houston, Bowery, Broome and Lafayette Streets their home. While the referential name for this slice of New York may change to Soho or Little Italy depending on whom you ask, using our guide, you can spend a whole day wandering this eclectic district like an in-the-know local.

But before stepping out into the crisp air this Fall, consider the support you’ll need to get through the day - the Bradelis Jasmine Shaping Bra, a much loved favorite from our Step-1 Styles Collection, is both functional and versatile and sexy enough for any Sex & The City Character that you may relate to. Think timeless and modern elegance combined, just like the Nolita neighborhood.

Start Soho Right

Even for leisurely weekend strolls, one needs a strong cup of coffee to always be in “on” mode in New York. We recommend the Urban Backyard Cafe on Mulberry Street, especially their Floral Matcha Latte. Besides the intrinsically Japanese flavor, the floral aroma sits well with our Design Team who’re always looking to heighten their senses like when developing the intricate lace pattern on the Bradelis Jasmine Bra.

Sit back and sip or If you’re going to make that coffee to go, we recommend heading over to the Elizabeth Street Garden with your cup in hand. Enchanting and unexpected, this slice of green boxed between boutiques, apartments and restaurants will bring out the romantic in anyone. Scattered upon the well kept grass are astonishingly beautiful sculptures, a godsend for selfie lovers.

Despite its popularity among the locals, this much needed heaven of nature is almost always missed by visitors, so we urge you to go there if you want to be away from all the tourists, even if you’re one yourself.

Art in Autumn

Next up, continue taking in beauty of a different kind at the Westwood Gallery, housing works from contemporary artists and local creatives. There’s always an exciting exhibition adorning the stark white walls and naked pipe layered ceilings. On our last visit, we couldn’t help but notice a whole series of paintings in exactly the same colors as our Belle Push-Up Plunge Bra 21A1 from our Autumn/Winter 2021 Collection. The brush strokes in ash blue, rose pink and a soft silver grey were striking similar to the palette of colorways in our Step 2 Belle Bra that also features botanical leavers lace with hints of shine.

Dine With Your Eyes

All that art gazing is sure to make one hungry. Head over to a staff favorite: Wayan. Even in restaurant overloaded NYC, the inventive pairing of Indonesian & French cuisine at this spot reminds us of Bradelis own blend of eastern and western sensibilities to create something memorable.

As you nibble on ginger infused hiramasa sashimi amidst the teak paneled interior, you won’t have to worry about keeping your style posture in check with the Belle Push-Up Plunge Bra with its lace side panels for extra support, together with the powernet at the back delivering a slim look. The  the side boning prevents tissue from escaping while the thick layer of powernet on the back supports and smooths effortlessly.

An alternative suggestion for singles and those looking to network, we also recommend Bumble Brew, a new concept from the wildly popular dating app, Bumble. (ps - it's scheduled to open this Fall -that's how new this place is)

Of course in a place like this, first impressions go a long way, and the Belle Push-Up Plunge Bra will ensure Volume is yours with this bra. With the narrower wire and deeper cups, this beauty will firmly lift and center your bust to create a beautiful silhouette, making heads turn.

After your planned or serendipitous encounter,  don’t forget to stop by and browse through the Bradelis Store at 211 Elizabeth Street (click here for directions).

Bradelis Nolita Store : Bra Lovers Paradise

After some retail therapy, one could use some nail therapy too. Head on over to Spazio for a mani pedi and neighborhood gossip. If you want to up the glam factor, the salon also offers a range of spa treatments, including a Golden Caviar Luxury Spa. Rest assured, keeping these surreal times in mind, the establishment follows all safety protocols when it comes to Covid-19, just like all other Nolita establishments.

As the sun sets and the nip in the air heightens, New York becomes even more lively, and the Nolita neighborhood is no exception to that rule. Somewhere in Nolita, atop the Nolitan Hotel is the newest addition to the never-ending rooftop bar scene in this city of daunting skyscrapers. While Nolita doesn’t stack up on floor numbers against some other areas in the city, the cocktails and vibe in this beautiful bar will compensate for the lack of any bird’s eye view.

We recommend the Heat Map (tequila, mezcal, watermelon, basil and calabrian chili) - a delicious concoction that pairs well with the equally impressive menu. The dress code is obviously to impress. No matter what your personal style statement is, to make sure your outfit rests well, you can’t go wrong with the Bradelis Mesh Bust-Lifting Body Shaper. The powernet lift panel provides an incredible lift from beneath to create a stunning decolette and the newly added high back design eliminates stubborn back bulges, ensuring you’ll always look gorgeous in your outfit of choice.

As night descends, you can easily just head down and retire to one of the tastefully decorated rooms of the Nolitan Hotel without having to strut your heels on the sidewalk to hail a taxi. You can hold off on doing that until you’re refreshed the following day on your next luxury excursion in New York, where we will explore another NYC neighborhood on one of the most iconic Avenues: Madison. Stay tuned for more New York insider tips with Bradelis. Until next time.
